We are delighted to announce that Ms. Gao Fengli and Ms. Xia Jingyi, two doctoral candidates from Prof. Feng Chuanliang’s research group at the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, have successfully completed their PhD studies and received their doctoral degrees at the 2026 Commencement Ceremony held on June 18.
At the ceremony, Ms. Gao Fengli was additionally honored with the title of Outstanding Graduate of Shanghai Jiao Tong University — a prestigious recognition awarded to top-performing doctoral students in recognition of their exceptional academic records, research productivity, and overall contributions during their graduate studies.
Research Highlights
Ms. Gao Fengli’s doctoral research focused on “Chirality Regulation of Supramolecular Assemblies from Berberine Hydrochloride / Camptothecin and Anti‑Tumor Study.” Her work explored the design of chiral supramolecular nanostructures with enhanced antitumor activity, contributing new insights into the application of chiral materials in nanomedicine.

Ms. Xia Jingyi’s dissertation centered on “Chiral Self‑Assembly Properties of Phenylalanine Derivatives and the Piezoelectric Performance of the Assemblies.” She systematically investigated the relationship between molecular chirality and macroscopic piezoelectric responses, providing a foundation for developing novel chiral piezoelectric biomaterials.

Both studies exemplify the group’s long‑standing commitment to advancing the fundamental science and application of chiral supramolecular systems.
Congratulations and Best Wishes
We extend our warmest congratulations to Dr. Gao Fengli and Dr. Xia Jingyi on this significant milestone. We wish them continued success and even greater achievements in their future scientific careers, and we look forward to seeing their future contributions to the field of Materials Science.
